Sponsors of the Running Blade
In 1999, IDS formed a strategic partnership with Otto Bock Clinical Division in the UK, which has been mutually very beneficial. The Otto Bock group is probably the largest P&O organisation in the world and the partnership gives IDS access to their unrivalled resources.
IDS also has a strong association with the Royal college of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI), and provide the prosthetic and orthotic modules for the orthopaedic surgical registrar training scheme.
The Team
The Team at IDS in Cappagh have been fundamental in developing and fine tuning evrey inch of Simon's Blade. Both Jan Ottosson and Donna Fisher have travelled up and down to Limerick University to team meetings and have been in constant contact with Jason Kenny about simon's needs. Simon in turn has visited the clinic in Cappagh to make adjustments and to recast for his stump as his training developed the body changed and so did his shape meaning his running style kept changing. It was with sheer determination from both Jan and Donna that they finally arrived at a running blade that was comfortable effcient for Simon.
